Rest in Peace Annie…
UPDATE 24 Nov 23
Annie went to the Vet again because of blood in her urine. Vet said she was fine and the UTI was probably related to her cycle. They were right yet complications came about later. She was never fixed and considerably neglected. She has other problems, which developed over time, that are all related. Corrective surgery would be unkind as she is not likely to benefit much in the long run. We are going to give her Lots Of Love and regular vet visits to keep on top of things.
Special thanks go to Stephanie O. for helping raise funds for Annie!!

Annie was found on a street in Queens with little hope to survive. She was living on a blanket along side a busy road. People would chuck food at her and she was Way underweight when a Good Samaritan took her in for the night. We brought her home the next day. She was hand fed and slept for a week. Her matted coat had twigs and garbage embedded.

Annie has been to the vet a few times. Her initial visit was a good one! She got the shots she needed and all checked out. She gained weight and is bouncing around today.

Other vet visits were in response to ailments. She has some kidney problems that require attention. When she pees, we sometimes see blood and she needs another vet visit. We estimate the costs to date are about $750 and the next vet visit will run about $800 more.

Now, she is a Love Bug ! She hops and looks for love by nudging my hand or leg when she is near. She loves her Butt scratched! Although her eyesight is starting to fail and she does not seem to have very good hearing, she is a Happy Dog who loves attention and a nice meal! We are looking for support to ease the vet bills and perhaps a Forever Home where she will get even more Love.
Over time, she developed internal problems. Her body bloated with internal bleeding and the vet could not correct the situation. We gave her love and care. It was heartbreaking seeing her so bloated she could not walk. She was in pain – a decision had to be made. I cried a lot that week.
— Annie passed away. She was loved and not alone for her final run over the bridge. I miss her so. She was my friend.
